Other Creative Projects

Crafting Deal of the Day

So I have decided after a week of trying to live with an old centerpiece creation that I am going to create another one–partially natural, partially not–based on inspiration from my tree’s color theme (blue, silver, and white) and a picture. I have no idea how this is going to turn out–I’m using some “creative” mechanics on this–but I’ll let you know how it turns out in my next post.

In the meantime, I’ve been scouring the stores and my backyard for some of the parts I need for this centerpiece at a good deal (read: cheap). After forgetting to look for a frosted spray paint or spray snow at the craft stores, I found this at my local #FamilyDollar:

Mini can of spray snow for $1.00!
Mini can of spray snow for $1.00!

This is a small can, about the size of a travel can of hairspray or aerosol deodorant. But it should be just enough for my small project–the Christmas centerpiece. This is so much better than buying a $5 can of spray snow at a craft store when I would only need a small amount. (Each state’s laws are different regarding aerosols; this may not be available in every state.)

Lesson Learned: Check your discount or dollar  bargain stores for crafting supplies, especially when you want to experiment with something or you have a small project to do. There are several YouTubers who craft exclusively using supplies from these stores, and they have made beautiful things. You can, too!

Look for my next post where  I create and finish the Christmas Centerpiece project. . .just in time for Christmas dinner! (I hope!)
